About Julie Surprise

I decided to create this blog because I realized that with all my kitchen experiments and figuring out how to be a house wife, there were recipes and ideas that I wanted to share.
However, I didn't want all that to interfere with my personal blog, any more than I want people who are looking for recipes to be bogged down (or bLogged down maybe) with having to sift through all my personal blah blah . . .

So here we have it . . .

 Surprise!!!!



 The name, Julie Surprise, actually comes from a sort of inside joke between my husband and I.

 You see, when we were newly weds and I was still in the 'playing-house- is-so-much-fun!' mindset; I would be making dinner for my husband and he would come home and ask what was for dinner, and I'd be so excited that I was actually making dinner for him, and I was so sure he was going to love it once he tried it, so instead of just telling him what I was making, I would always say, "It's a surprise!"
 This especially became the case when I was experimenting, which usually meant I wasn't sure what to call it yet myself.

So after a while, whenever I was cooking up another experiment my hubby would come home and say, "Oh, looks like we're having 'Julie Surprise!'"

 Some of the info on this site might be a bit behind from where I am in my life right now, and so at some point I may go through and remove some of the old content, but as it stands right now, you can see how I've transitioned to healthier ideas and more healthful, clean and whole foods. Also, I've tried to make it as easy to navigate as possible by linking every post on the side column into various categories.

This blog was first created in 2009 before the advent of Pinterest, and at the time it was sort of my Pinterest back then.

Do you remember those e-mails you used to get that had longs lists of cleaning solutions or home remedies, and health information etc . . . ?

Well, I used to take those if I thought they were worth referring back to and post them here.
Now the same tips exist on blogs and memes all over Pinterest and I've since found even more and often better ideas and solutions for everyday living.
