Measuring Equivalents

3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon

2 tablespoons = ⅛ cup

4 tablespoons = ¼ cup

8 tablespoons = ½ cup

16 tablespoons = 1 cup

5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon = ⅓ cup

12 tablespoons = ¾ cup

4 once = ½ cup

8 once = 1 cup

cup = ½ cup + 2 tablespoons

cup = ¾ cup + 2 tablespoons

2 cups = 1 pint

2 pints = 1 quart

1 quart = 4 cups

A few grains = Less than teaspoon

Pinch is as much as can be taken between tip of finger and thumb.


16 ounce = 2 tablespoons fat or liquid

4 ounces (1½ to 2 cups) uncooked noodles = 2 cups cooked


28 saltine crackers = 1 cup crumbs

4 slices bread = 1 cup crumbs

14 square graham crackers = 1 cup crumbs

22 vanilla wafers = 1 cup crumbs
